The US High Speed Rail Association (USHSR) is the premier membership advocacy organization and trade association advancing fast rail in America. USHSR was founded in 2009 as an independent nonprofit organization with the mission to build widespread public, business, and political support for major federal investment in a national high-speed rail network.

In 2020, USHSR expanded its efforts after the election of President “Amtrak Joe” Biden. The USHSR Coalition was formed to bring together labor, industry, and other stakeholders to pressure Congress and the Administration to appropriate major federal funding for rail and high-speed rail projects throughout America. After helping to secure $66 billion from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, USHSR is now working with DOT and FRA on implementation of those funds so 2-3 high-speed rail systems get up and running.

USHSR encourages the transformation of the U.S. transportation sector into a safe, fast and reliable, low-cost, green system that works for all Americans. By uniting the power of the high-speed rail industry including manufacturers, engineering firms, the civil construction industry, and their allied industries, both public and private, we are championing policies that enable the continued and aggressive growth of high-speed rail in the United States.

Railway Industry Association

RIA is the trade association for the UK-based suppliers to the railway industry. 

We have been established for over 140 years, with over 300 member companies representing a large proportion of the supply chain. Our network of rail contacts extends to thousands; many within our member companies, but also within government/industry bodies, as well as academia and adjacent/emerging sectors.

The Association’s principle activities are to:

• Represent members’ interests to Government, regulators, Network Rail and others
• Offer a forum for dialogue between members
• Provide information to members
• Promote exports of members’ products and services

Our member companies represent a large proportion of the rail industry by turnover and reflect a great diversity of technical disciplines within the rail sector. 

RIA is also a member of the Rail Innovation Family , a grouping of the UK’s major representative organisations in the rail supply sector, set up in June 2019 with the aim of providing greater and clearer support for suppliers seeking to bring innovation into the rail industry. 

Our Articles of Association set out how RIA is governed by a Board of rail industry leaders from the various sub sectors such as rolling stock, infrastructure, SMEs and consultants.
